The online ad opens with a shot of an African American actor, Mehcad Brooks, sitting in a chair, holding a drink in one hand and a red rose in the other. And then he speaks directly to the camera.

“Oh, hey, baby, did you think I forgot? ... How could I forget our anniversary?”

The “anniversary” he’s referring to is the 40th year of Roe v. Wade, of abortion on demand. Clearly this ad thinks that this is something to celebrate. As the actor puts it, “All these years so many people said we'd never make it. They've been trying to tear us apart. . . Put limits on you, on me, on us.” And then he roars with laughter.

“We're going to be standing right by your side, today, tomorrow, and the years to come,” he promises. “Because that is how much you mean to me, baby.” And again, he roars with laughter.

When I first watched this ad, I thought, this HAS to be a spoof. It employs the ugly racial stereotype of a smooth-talking predator celebrating his freedom to use women at zero cost to himself: Hey, baby, hook up with me—and then go have an abortion. Are they kidding? No; this was no spoof.

The ad was actually made by the Center for Reproductive Rights. And with this ad they’ve revealed more than they may have intended about why so many men want abortion to remain legal.

Ryan Scott Bomberger, an African-American pro-lifer who runs the Radiance Foundation, hit the nail on the head about this ad. “The Center for Reproductive Rights, like Planned Parenthood, certainly understands its main demographic,” he notes. “The fact that they use a black man just screams irony.”

That’s because, as Bomberger says, “With the black abortion rate as high as it is and black fathers as absent as they are, it’s just sick to see Mehcad Brooks shill for the number-one killer in the black community.”

And of course, he's right. For the black community, abortion verges on genocide. It kills more black Americans than gun violence, cancer, AIDS, and heart disease combined. Abortion businesses target minority communities because they know there's money to be made.

This may be a big reason why black women abort their babies at five times the rate of white women, according to the Guttmacher Institute. This means that black women who abort suffer higher rates of breast and cervical cancers—both linked to abortion--and from post-abortion trauma.

Alveda King, who’s the niece of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and a post-abortive mother, put these statistics in ghastly perspective:

“[W]hat would Martin Luther King, Jr.,” she asked, “who dreamed of having his children judged by the content of their characters, do if he'd lived to see the contents of thousands of children's skulls emptied into the bottomless caverns of the abortionists' pits?”

This is what the guy in this ad is celebrating: The slaughter of millions of babies, killed so that guys like this can enjoy sex without consequences to themselves.

But as millions of post-abortive women will tell you, the social and family pressures that drive women to abortion are no laughing matter.

So God bless the thousands of Americans who marched on the Supreme Court last week in protest of the legal killing of innocent children. We should pray for their work, remembering the words of Paul in Ephesians: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Roe Ad Is Truly Evil
@ Darian

I had just read about MSNBC reporter Toure thanking God for abortion so he wouldn't have to be sexually responsible:

As sick as Toure's comments were even for him, this Roe ad is truly evil.

How else to describe an ad that:

* Jokes about over 50 million people being murdered by abortion

* Portrays women as soulless, mindless, and disposable sex objects

* Manages to cram in various racist stereotypes about Black men in under two minutes!

I think the guys behind this ad felt emboldened by Obama's re-election so their true feelings about babies, women and Black people like myself are coming to the fore. And it is TRULY ugly to behold even if you call yourself "pro-choice."
Writing letters
They may be pitched, but I wrote a letter to the Center for Reproductive Rights about just how racist and creepy and irresponsible this ad is. It may not make a bit of difference -- but maybe one person will read it and truly think about how horrible the ad really is. Lord have mercy.
the father of lies is hard at work
I watched this video when you posted it on your Facebook last week, Eric, and it was so disgusting and sinful that I felt dirty having watched it. It served as a reminder that the father of lies - Beezlebub himself - is hard at work blinding the eyes of the world around us which is all the more reason to gird ourselves with the armour of our God and pray in the Spirit on all occasions and pray for our enemies.
Abortion Ad
I listed this on my blog. It is the worst ad I have ever seen. Creepy does not even begin to define its inappropriateness. I would say evil. www.darianburns.com
Abortion On Demand & Consequences
"This guy is celebrating forty years of having as much sex as he wants with no consequences thanks to abortion on demand."
No consequences in this life maybe. Actually there are. Just look at the shape America is in right now. There will be unfathomable consequences in the next for those who continue the unrepentant slaughter of God's children & the trampling of His gift of life. It is no laughing matter. The bozo in the video is laughing at the extermination of his own race & doesn't even comprehend this fact. This is worse than slavery ever was & they just don't get it. Adolph Hitler would be hailed as a hero in this country today by the insanly radical left & those Republicans & conservatives who have no problem with this because it's a "woman's choice". It's not a woman's choice though. God created the woman's body. That makes her body His. He also created each & every child which have been snuffed out through abortion. We all belong to God, even those who don't believe. There is a difference though, between being a creation of God (we all are) & being one of His children (only God's grace & the sacrifice of God's one & only son Jesus Christ make this possible). Every life is precious to God who created us all. Mehcad Brooks is totally clueless. He may as well perform the abortions himself. I wonder if it then would sink in that he's helping to kill off his own race one child at a time through his radical support of abortion on demand. I doubt it. Instant gratification trumps everything else nowadays it seems. The real interesting thing is the same black generation that fought slavery would fight abortion on demand fiercely. Everything that generation fought for is being flushed as today's generation of blacks cannot see they are helping the radical left kill off their own generation. Talk about shame.
African American actor, Mehcad Brooks..OH Bad Baby
This type of message is ABHORRENT to the very issue of the sanctity of all human life and to the HUMAN RACE itself! This man is no doubt the epitome of the type of people who are the greatest practicing baby makers and killers! So insensitive to all humans and the Black community against whom the abortion concept are the most targeted!  Why is it that planned parenthood was established to begin with and is predominantly located in black/poor neighborhoods to start with. The foundress of PP got her idea to kill blacks and Christians from the one only Adolf Hitler who in tern got his idea to kill Jews and Christians from the Islamic imams.
