The Truth Will Out: 'Roe' Anniversary Thoughts

Semper Quaerens

Lucian
It's strange to think that the very first American baby to be legally killed at the hands of an abortionist would now be 40 years old had he or she been allowed to live. This unknown, preborn baby—let's say it was a girl—would likely have children of her own by now, a job, a mortgage, a husband, a life. She would probably be coloring those first few gray hairs, and struggling to take off those extra unwanted pounds.

And then there are millions of other abortees—killed in the late ’80s and early ’90s—who would be in their 20s or 30s now, graduating college, beginning careers, perhaps planning a wedding.

Abortion victims of the late ’90s would be attending junior high or high school, playing video games, sneaking a first cigarette, and dreaming of which college to attend.

And babies killed through abortion in 2007? They'd be in first grade, clutching their new boxes of Crayolas, learning to read and write, and making friends. Think about those 20 first graders slaughtered at Sandy Hook Elementary last month. And then multiply them by 2,750,000. Because, thanks to one twisted Supreme Court decision, that's approximately how many American children have been legally put to death since 1973.

Forty years into this holocaust, we now have quite a few abortion truth-tellers to combat the deniers—telling the truth the abortion industry has deliberately and determinedly hidden since the first major abortion battles were waged in the ’60s.

First, the preborn are children, not mere “blobs of tissue.” Millions of ultrasound images have destroyed this lie for good. When pregnancy care center truth-tellers show women ultrasound images of their babies, overwhelmingly, women refuse to kill them. No wonder abortionists fight so hard against laws that require them to show women these images before proceeding with the abortion.

Second, abortionists perform abortions, not because they care about women's rights, but because it's incredibly profitable. Former abortionists readily admit this. “It's a lie when they tell you they're doing it to help women, because they're not. They're doing it for the money,” said Nita Whitten, a former abortion counselor.

Third, abortionists are undeniably racist, building abortion facilities in black and Hispanic neighborhoods. Dr. Alveda King, niece of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., observes that “the killing tools of abortionists are as aimed at blacks today as the fire hoses of segregationists 50 years ago.” And undercover journalists have recorded Planned Parenthood employees cheerfully accepting donations intended for the extermination of black babies.

Fourth, Planned Parenthood has been exposed for other squalid deeds—in particular, undermining statutory rape laws and child abuse. This has made it difficult for them to keep up the pretense that they care about women.

Fifth, truth-tellers are exposing the fact that “safe, legal abortions” maim and kill many women. Carol Everett, director of four abortion clinics in the ’70s and ’80s, notes that during the last 18 months she was involved in the abortion business, “we were completing over 500 abortions monthly and killing or maiming one woman out of 500.” Uterine perforations and tears often resulted in the need to perform hysterectomies, she adds, and “a complication that is rarely publicized is the one in which the doctor perforates the uterus and pulls their bowels through the vagina, resulting in colostomy.” And truth-tellers engaged in medical research have linked abortions to breast cancer. (Don't wait for Planned Parenthood to tell you any of this.)

Sixth, a preborn child undergoing an abortion can experience horrific pain. Torture is not too strong a word for it.

Seventh, more and more truth-tellers are women who underwent abortions themselves, and never stopped regretting them. These women speak out all over the country, on college campuses and at churches, warning young women that when abortionists tell them they'll be just fine after killing their helpless child, they're lying.

Preborn babies are a blob of tissue, legal abortions are safe for the mother and don't cause pain for the fetus, women don't regret killing their preborn children: It's a pack of lies, lies told to women since the first legal abortion took place, 55,000,000 abortions ago. No wonder God says he hates “a lying tongue and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans . . . a false witness who breathes out lies.” (Proverbs 6: 17-19). No wonder He condemns liars to hell (Rev. 21:8)

While abortion is likely to remain legal in America for some time, not all news on the abortion front is tragic. On the anniversary of the deadliest Supreme Court decision in history, my favorite fetal near-death story is about Baby Lucian (pictured above), whose parents, Katyia Rowe and Shane Johnson, were devastated to find out that their 20-week old pre-born son had such severe brain abnormalities he would probably never walk or talk. Their doctor recommended abortion. Rowe and Johnson were considering this advice when they accidentally learned the truth about the humanity of their tiny, disabled son. As journalist Larisa Brown writes in the U.K.'s Daily Mail:

“When further scans and tests were performed on Lucian to discover the extent of the malformation, Katyia was surprised at what she saw. Lucian, 20 weeks (5 months gestation), was smiling, blowing bubbles, waving his arms and kicking inside of her.”

As Katyia recalls, “When I saw him smiling and playing inside me I knew I couldn't end his life. Despite all the awful things I was being told, while he was inside me his quality of life looked to be wonderful and no different to any other baby's. He was a joy to watch.” She adds: “I knew it was my duty as a mother to protect [him] no longer how long he had left.”

Doctors told Katyia that even if Lucian survived, he wouldn't live past his fifth birthday. Katyia didn't budge. “I had never considered myself particularly maternal, but now I wanted nothing more than to care for my son and give him the best quality of life possible. I was more than happy to dedicate my life fully to his care.”

Lucian was born last October, and died just nine hours later, in his mother's arms.

“I'm so thankful to have had that time with Lucian for those few hours,” Katyia Rowe says. “I thought I didn’t want to be a mother, but Lucian taught me it is the most wonderful job in the world, and I will always be grateful for that.”

You can view two pictures of Lucian—one taken before birth, and one just after—here.

Thank God for the truth-tellers who devote themselves to exposing the lies of the “choicers.” As we fast and pray for an end to the slaughter, we should recall the words of Shakespeare in “The Merchant of Venice”:

“The Truth will come to light; murder cannot be hid long; a man's son may, but at the length truth will out.”

"This unknown, preborn baby—let's say it was a girl—would likely have children of her own by now, a job, a mortgage, a husband, a life. She would probably be coloring those first few gray hairs, and struggling to take off those extra unwanted pounds."

Would it be unfair to give her a name, like, say, "Julia"? ( http://www.barackobama.com/life-of-julia/ )
Apologies, Zonie. The mistakes have been fixed.
Math issues in the article
Great article - thoughtful, insightful, sobering.

But a couple of statistics paint the picture better than it is, if that's possible.

You say " Think about those 20 first graders slaughtered at Sandy Hook Elementary last month. And then multiply them by 54,500. Because, thanks to one twisted Supreme Court decision, that's how many American children have been legally put to death since 1973."

Actually, multiply those 20 by 60,500 and that's how many children in killed in the USA in just ONE YEAR (1.21 million).

Let's get real: that's 3315 every day, at a rate of 138 per hour 24/7/365. A baby legally killed every 26 seconds. That's more than died in the 911 terrorist attacks, and it happens EVERY DAY.

Multiply those 20 Sandy Hook first graders by 2,750,000 (yes, 2.75 MILLION) and you have how many have been murdered legally since 1973).

Later, you say: "It's a pack of lies, lies told to women since the first legal abortion took place, 550,000 abortions ago."

That figure should be 55,000,000 (55 MILLION).

The American Holocaust far surpasses anything the Nazis did or dreamed of. May God have mercy on our blood-stained nation.
My Letter to the President
Thank God for the truth-tellers like Anne. Please pass on my letter to the President about lives of our children http://bit.ly/XrqE0f. Thanks for defending lives.
