Their Choice is Ours, Too

Earlier this month, Georgetown University invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to speak at the university. That's the same HHS secretary who authored the infamous mandate forcing religious organizations to violate their religious convictions about contraception and abortion-inducing drugs.

Cardinal Wuerl, the archbishop of the Washington diocese, strongly criticized Georgetown, especially after their president defended himself by painting it as a reproductive rights issue.

Also this month, Ohio's Franciscan University made an opposing choice, when it announced that it would drop all health insurance coverage rather than follow the HHS mandate. See, this same choice may be ours. Will it be our careers, or our convictions? Will it be our institution's advancement, or its integrity? These are questions we are going to face, and we'd better settle them now if we wish to follow the authority that's even higher than that of the White House. For ThePointRadio.org, I'm John Stonestreet.
