Listen Now | DownloadA lot of noise has been made this week over the release of the New Family Structures Study that suggests, among other things, that children of same-sex couples do not fair as well as those from traditional families. Pay attention and you’ll see the biases come out immediately — if you support same-sex marriage you’ll note the sample size of the study was too small and the conclusions deal more with unstable households and not long-term same sex relationships. They say the study is junk. Opponents of same-sex marriage will say that this is the largest sample size ever studied by far – so earlier conclusions about same-sex relationships being the same or better than traditional married households must be overblown. Plus, only 2 stable same-sex couples were found in what was a large sample group. In other words, stable same-sex couples are extremely rare. What’s clear from the study is that there is no substitute for stable traditional families. A good thing to remember this Father’s Day. For thePointRadio.org, I’m John Stonestreet.

I believe I have found a good one: A good government recognizes and supports behavior that has been proven to promote a stable society. Heterosexual marriage and traditional families have provided this behavior for 6000 years.
Same-sex marriages and families should be required to provide similar proof that they promote stable society before they are recognized and supported by the government.
