University of Texas sociologist Mark Regnerus, who was recently vindicated from false accusations of “academic misconduct” for his research on children of parents in same-sex relationships has released another surprising find from his study. Those who use pornography daily or more, according to Regnerus, are far more likely to agree with the statement, “It should be legal for gays and lesbians to marry in America.” Conversely, he also found that men who spent less time viewing porn are less critical of the institution of marriage.

While Regnerus is careful to note that correlation doesn’t imply causation, it does suggest that the growing public support among younger Americans for redefining marriage may not be completely about open-mindedness. It may have at least something to do with their constant exposure to and acceptance of sexual brokenness. I’ll link to Regnerus’ article at, I’m John Stonestreet.
