An appeal for common-sense prison reform

Pat Nolan and Newt Gingrich have co-authored an op-ed about the need for criminal justice reform in South Carolina, which ran in The State.

They highlight the reasons prison policies in South Carolina should deeply concern political conservatives. The bill the article mentions, S. 1154, is legislation that we have been working to support, along with our Pew Public Safety Performance Project partners. It passed out of the House Judiciary Committee yesterday and now will move before the full House for a vote.
