Housekeeping

Hey, Pointificators, we could really use your help. We've been making some changes to the comment system recently, and unfortunately, this has resulted in some bugs. I'm told that several posts are not allowing comments. I'm trying to go through and fix them, but it takes time to find them all. If any of you who've encountered this problem could comment on this post and let us know which post(s) gave you trouble, the process will go much more quickly. Thank you.

(I will, of course, make every effort to ensure that THIS post allows comments!)

Comments:

Not EVERY place here is a battlefield, Jason, but sometimes it seems like it. :-)
The problem I had was I actually couldn't read previous comments.

Manassass and Hamptons Rolley? Is every place in Virginia a battlefield? Sounds like some parts of Central Europe.
Oh, I see. I think it's the spam. Inside the system, I'm seeing huge comment numbers too. For some reason, it seems like even after the spam gets deleted, those numbers still show.

Max to bottom. Comments section says “Comments Total 91” (there aren’t). Indicates there is a “Next Page” (but there is not). Etc.

I see the same type thing on other Feature articles.

Let me know if still doesn't make sense.
Sorry, Rolley, I'm not sure what you mean. Could you please clarify?

Gina, the "Comments" section of some Feature articles does not correctly reflect comments that used to be out there. I know b/c I've been tracking my own stats from time to time. See http://www.breakpoint.org/features-columns/articles/entry/12/19080/20 for an example.
“Trip Report”
.
The elect angels may have a more expansive account, but from my earthbound vantage point the week was fairly uneventful. And perhaps that’s a good thing.

To my surprise and delight, approving waves, honks, and thumbs-up outnumbered one-finger salutes 2 to 1. We passed thousands, even tens of thousands of cars (or rather they passed us; we weren’t exactly setting speed records), and the weather was good 90% of the time, so I know we got a lot of exposure – which was, of course, the whole point.

On the down side, at the end of the week I picked up some kind of virus (second time in a month, dagnabbit) in Manassas and had to hole up in a Hampton Inn Friday through Wednesday of last week (my wife’s an RN; otherwise I probably would’ve wound up in a hospital bed). My temperature hit 103.5, and that was with a round-the-clock regimen of Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I felt like the proverbial dog. Whatever it was, may it return to the pit, nevermore to torment mortals.

The original plan for these past two weeks had been to make this trip to NE Virginia a pro-life twofer. CBR truck driving was number one; number two was to participate in the ActsFive29 rally outside the White House (it’s going on as we speak) to peacefully & prayerfully protest the HHS Mandate. http://actsfive29.com/ The three-day event is sponsored by Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust ( http://www.survivors.la/ ) and features an impressive line-up of speakers including Lila Rose, Rev. Patrick Mahoney, and Bryan Kemper.

But thanks to the aforementioned virus from Gehenna, instead of getting arrested for praying, I’m back in Columbia, SC catching up on two weeks of missed work. Which is doubly-distressing to me b/c I had hoped to take Kim Moreland up on doing lunch with buds at BreakPoint while we were in the DC area. Dang.

But we made some incredible new friends up that way (we stayed in host homes until I got sick), so I think the odds of a return trip in the not-too-distant future are on the high side.

Whatever, we rest in the assurance that ultimately God is in control, and that no matter what the Enemy may throw in our path, God will cause it all to work together for good.

Lee, thanks for priming me for this recap, and to everyone – thanks for your prayers.
I am thrilled to await your trip report, Rolley. May you and Eleanor have a safe and extremely fruitful journey.

(on-topic rationalization switch ON)

Thanks Lee. I’m a sit-down comic this week. Of necessity. Until they put a sunroof in this thing….

http://www.fox43tv.com/dpps/news/local/graphic-truck-makes-political-statement_4579498

Eleanor and I are in truck number two. Michael Heath (our trainer and the interviewee) is in truck number one.

Today we were in Viginia Beach. Tomorrow we'll be in Charlottesville. Wed and Thurs, Manassas. Friday, Columbus, Ohio. Then Saturday we head back home to South Carolina.

This is part of the Center for Bio-ethical Reform’s “Key States Voter Initiative” to encourage the pro-life vote for those who haven’t adequately grasped the implications of the alternative. Details here: http://abortionno.org/index.php/reproductive_choice_campaign/rcc/

(More updates to come (if circumstances permit), so the on-topic rationalization switch is still ON. In fact, the switch appears to be welded into the ON position. With impervium. I’d try to stop my rationalizations, Gina, really I would. But I think somewhere in Luke it says there is no try).
The lack of a comment box was happening on every blog I looked at. Seems fine now.
(Well, haven't had any trouble myself, but lessee if *this* one makes it through, to - as Gina puts it - THIS post. And *somebody* has to fill in for Rolley while he's busy, even if the somebody is not nearly as good as a stand-up comic.)
