Putting restorative justice to the test

"No one I spoke to," writes New York Times reporter Paul Tullis, "had ever heard of restorative justice applied for anything as serious as murder." Not until the Grosmire family of Leon County, Florida, dared to try it with their daughter's killer. The resulting story of struggle, heartbreak, and hope is not an easy read, but it is an important and powerful one.
