Expectant mothers have the opportunity to screen their unborn babies for genetic defects. Dr. Matt Anderson, OB/GYN, points out that "the primary purpose of genetic testing" is "abortion of a handicapped baby."
But Dr. Anderson also tells us about another potential purpose: perinatal hospice. What if parents had help in dealing with the grief of losing their baby? Perhaps someday all mothers in such situations can benefit from perinatal hospice rather than choose abortion, which would only contribute to the death of their child.
Stay tuned for a commentary from Chuck Colson on this subject.
