Shockingly, 72 percent of African-American babies are illegitimate.
But there is a hopeful sign that soon the African-American illegitimacy rates might be falling.
When Christelyn Karazin, then a college student, became pregnant, she thought her boyfriend would marry her. She was wrong, and her child is growing up without his father. Instead of bemoaning the situation,
Karazin is doing something about it. She's joined forces with psychologist Linda Malone-Colon and they've started
a blog rally to stop the family hemorrhage.
Malone-Colon identifies why the family took such a nose-dive. The problem of illegitimacy is run-away individualism, says Malone-Colon. She identifies another problem too: "A lot of that we've lost, spiritualism, our belief in God and connection to God, our extended families that we had before and the way that we use these families to support one another, our relationships with people outside of our families that we had family-like relationships and connected with."
While Karazin and Malone-Colon do not strongly advocate for chastity, they are getting some things right. Let's stay tuned for developments.

Sorry to be such a wet blanket. I think the cause is a good one. But, there was far too much PC drivel, and far too little facing facts.
