I had the craziest thought while reading this piece on how John Edwards is dealing with his disgrace: In some ways, Edwards is now in the same position in which Chuck Colson once found himself.
Maybe we ought to start praying?

If you're interested, Lee, one sci-fi writer I read posited that Procopius was in fact a malicious spreader of hyperbolic culumny. If the description given in the wikipedia is anything to go on, he probably has a point.
But that is not unknown for blogs today either.

Must be something like what Saul of Tarsus went through. (Note to self: Ask Jason if there was a First Century equiilvalent to blogging - other than, say, having someone *literally* crucified to express your opinion of them.)
